About Our Content

Facts News Group is an independent newsroom covering crime, policing, and the justice system through the public record. Our reporting is based on body camera footage, court filings, police reports, arrest records, and other documents obtained from the agencies that hold them.

• News, not legal advice. Our content is provided for news and informational purposes only. It is not legal advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney.
• Presumption of innocence. An arrest, charge, or appearance in footage or records is not a finding of guilt. Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
• Point in time. Our stories reflect the records available when they were published. Cases may change after publication through new filings, dismissals, plea agreements, verdicts, or appeals.
• Sensitive material. Some content, including body camera footage, may contain violence, strong language, or other graphic material. Viewer discretion is advised.

Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content, including articles, headlines, graphics, logos, video edits, and the Facts News Group name and branding, are owned by Facts News Group or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Public records themselves remain public; our protection covers our own original reporting, writing, selection, editing, and presentation.

You're welcome to share our posts, stories, and videos, including sharing or reposting them on social media, as long as you keep our credit visible, link back to the original where possible, and don't alter the content in a misleading way. What's not allowed without our written permission is passing our work off as your own, removing our branding or watermarks, or using our content commercially (for example, re-uploading our videos to monetize them). Submissions

Our Submit a Case form lets you send us information about cases. By submitting anything to us, including text, case details, and links to media (a "Submission"), you agree that:

• License to use. You grant Facts News Group a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, review, investigate, reproduce, edit, publish, and distribute the Submission, in whole or in part, in any media, in connection with our reporting. To the extent you own media in a Submission, you keep ownership; this license simply allows us to use it.
• No guarantee of coverage. Every submission is reviewed, but not every one will be covered. We decide in our sole editorial judgment whether, when, and how to report on any Submission, and we have no obligation to respond, publish, or compensate you.
• Your responsibility. You are responsible for your Submission. You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, it is accurate, and that you have the right to share it.
• Lawfully obtained only. Do not submit anything that was obtained unlawfully, including hacked, stolen, or illegally recorded material, or anything that violates a court order, sealing order, or someone else's rights. We may disregard or delete any Submission we believe was improperly obtained.
• Source protection. We never publish who sent a tip without permission. How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Prohibited Uses

When using the Site, you agree not to:

• Break any law or encourage anyone else to do so
• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or harassing information, or impersonate another person
• Use the Site or our content to harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone, including people named in our reporting
• Upload or link to malware or other harmful code
• Interfere with the Site's operation or security, or try to bypass our spam and bot protections
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data from the Site by automated means without our written permission, including for training artificial intelligence models
• Use our content or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you or your products

We may restrict access to the Site for anyone who violates these Terms.

Third-Party Links and Embeds

The Site links to and may embed content from third-party platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X, and relies on services such as Webflow and Google reCAPTCHA. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Corrections

Accuracy matters to us. If you believe something we published is inaccurate, contact us with the story link, what you believe is wrong, and any supporting documentation. We review every correction request. When we confirm an error, we fix it promptly and add a dated correction note at the top of the story. Decisions about corrections and updates are made in our editorial judgment.

Disclaimers

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While we work to verify our reporting against original records, we do not guarantee that the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components, or that content will always be current.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Facts News Group and its owners, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or reputation, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Facts News Group and its owners, contributors, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your Submissions, your use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms or anyone else's rights.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the Effective Date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Facts News Group regarding the Site.
